Greenberg Gross LLP Filed a Federal Civil Rights Lawsuit Against the Clark County School District

Greenberg Gross LLP has filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against the Clark County School District on behalf of a former Las Vegas junior high school student and her mother.

The complaint — A.N., a minor, by and through her legal guardian, F.N. v. Clark County School District, et al., Case No. 2:26-cv-02879 — was filed on September 10, 2026 in the United States District Court for the District of Nevada. Along with the district, it names CCSD Superintendent Jhone Ebert, Clifford J. Lawrence Junior High School Principal Allen Yee, and former Lawrence math teacher Brian D. Conway as defendants.

The complaint alleges that Conway groomed and sexually abused the plaintiff, who was 13 years old and a student in his math class, and that district leadership failed to act on warning signs visible to school staff. According to the complaint, a school administrator warned Conway about the amount of unsupervised time he was spending alone with the student, but the district did not investigate the conduct, escalate it, or notify the student's mother.

The complaint asserts five causes of action: two claims under 42 U.S.C. § 1983 for violation of the plaintiff's Fourteenth Amendment right to bodily integrity — one against the district and one against Ebert and Yee — together with claims for negligence, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and battery. Plaintiffs seek compensatory and punitive damages and have demanded a jury trial.
